#WillYouShave? Decide!

NO SHAVE November ?

Sounds familiar ? yes, right. Most of you might have heard of it in this on-going month of November.

The matter of fact that I would like to mention here is that without knowing about the concept really people have gone for the "No Shave November" campaign.

To bring to light, what it actually is:
Simple as the 'No-Shave' organisation puts it is that "NO SHAVE NOVEMBER" is a unique way to raise cancer awareness. The organisation considers it a better way to grow awareness with some hair. Through this it demands of some support.

The Concept of No-Shave November:
The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free.  Donate the money you usually spend on shaving and grooming for a month to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.

What men are expected to do:
Participate by growing a beard, cultivating a mustache, letting those legs get mangly, and skipping that waxing appointment.  Give back even more by picking up some sweet merchandise to show support.  If one is not ready to sport a new shaggy look, consider donating anyway to support the cause.

What actually the trend is:
Just seeing others growing up beards and mustaches, they are following each other blindly, which does no good, neither to the person, nor to the organisation fighting to raise awareness about cancer.

So the next question I put forth to those who without any knowledge of the campaign and the idea behind the "No Shave November" thing is #WillYouShave?

I did it so because in the past month, I saw people going crazy, putting up status, improper grooming, no shaving, and endlessly being unclean. I felt the worst when I asked few of them about their reason of not grooming, they had no idea of the campaign and had meaningless answers, which just made me shrunk my face from a fat plum to an deflated balloon.

It was disheartening to see through the entire month the people giving the excuse of "No-Shave-November" without having known the adequate reason behind it.

So, a message for all those who did it purposely or non-purposely, the idea behind the campaign is to raise awareness, and you can be groomed for that reason, and contribute to the organisation if you can or go on for "No-Shaving" only in-order to save the amount that you spend for the entire one month of November to donate for the cause of cancer awareness.

This is it, and that is it!

So #WillYouShave ?

I leave it over you to decide.

Gaming Revolution in India- FAT-CAT : Lucky 6

India has one of the world's fastest-growing economies, but what role does gaming play in the lives of its vast emerging middle-class?

The rapid spread of 3G wireless technology across India was one of the most quietly significant stories of few years down the lane back in 2009. India is now one of the world's fastest growing economies, supported by 1.2 billion people who had no consistent access to affordable broadband internet until a little over 2009. In 2010, wired broadband connections reached less than 1 per cent of that vast population - 3G connections surpassed that within the first few months.

SHM Entertainment Ltd (“SHM”), has designed an online gaming platform whose applications (“Apps”) are marketed under the brand, “Fat Cat”. Currently the platform allows players to play two unique games on their smartphones and tablets.

Of course, social networks and smartphones have disrupted markets the world over, but it's important to remember that India didn't really have a market to begin with. For developers, these platforms are all raw potential and boundless promise, but actually making the economics work for consumers is proving to be a challenge.

A typical game title today takes around 24 months to make and will have a production budget of $ 4 -10 million. The game industry is under increasing pressure to reduce development time and the cost of production. Reason enough for major publishers and studios to look at outsourcing development.

This is where the Indian game developers with their world-class quality and game development experience step in. India has excellent programmers and the rapid growth of the market is adding to the allure.

1. User-Adaptability: access to the game on smartphone makes it so comfortable to play anytime around, even it means to refresh oneself from the hectic schedule in short breaks time

2. Sharing is caring: The game has a very useful feature of sharing it with friends and making them earn money in a friendly manner. And, the best is when they earn, you earn too.

3. Quiz-game: It is good to enhance knowledge domain at any point of time and take it forward to higher levels. The game has a good feature of playing quizzes.

4. Winning big: The game looks promising in the manner of earning good value by selecting the shares of the 6 companies which we wish to from the list.

5. Ease of Access: The game has good features of being accessed even by a novice who has negligible knowledge of gaming by simply downloading and signing up with the game.

There are facts and figures that say that India is the next frontier for many gaming companies. India as well as Brazil. Brazil has had and shown a lot of interest and done very well in the last few years in the gaming sector. India is untapped and has in store a huge potential waiting to be unleashed at a large mass level.

Even though the emerging market for mobile gaming is experiencing teething problems with regards to generating revenue, it is still serving a valuable purpose in the country. Mobile gaming has brought gaming culture into India.

FAT CAT is so much fun and the jackpots being huge, I am waiting for the day, when my friends would turn to me and thank me for turning them into big fat cats. What fun!

Feeding mouths, fighting hunger!

Hunger, by far, is the number one case of deaths in the world. Aids, Cancer, etc follow it. There are 820 million hungry people in the world which is a very sad figure, and the worst is one- third of this number is the population from India. There are millions who die of hunger every year. There are again millions who sleep due to hunger every night. What worse could it get ? This problem really needs to sorted out and we as social human beings can do our best to serve the society and the needy people.

The main question that arises before everyone of us is that "Can we fight the cause and eradicate hunger ?"

Well, the answer is YES, and yes because people like you and me can be the first possible ones to fight this issue and make the world a better place to live in. You and me can fight it out with the organisations that have been long fighting the cause and serving millions of children in the country.

A little donations from us can bring the change in the society by working along with these governmental and non-governmental organisations. It is essential that we our least bit to bring in the changes in the society and work for its upliftment in the best possible ways.

We humans are rational and provided with those beautiful brains, and the best beautiful thing that we can do with the brain is think good for the humanity and do the best for it and make efforts to eliminate hunger and poverty from the society of India.

Let's not take this problem of hunger and poverty to the future years and solve it out right here. We all can do our bit by creating awareness among the elites and educated ones about the best of initiatives that can be taken to eradicate hunger.

Another could be to make donations to the organisations such as those of Akshay Patra Foundation that does a marvelous job in eradicating hunger from the classrooms by bringing them the quality and hygienic food. A good care is taken to serve a nutritious diet to the children in the schools. This has led to reduction in the dropout rates in the number of children from the schools which is ultimately is a boon for our country raising the literacy percentage.

Less or more, efforts have to be made from everyone like you and me, to fight the evils like hunger and poverty from the society.

Eradication of Hunger - #BlogToFeedAChild

It was my first day at hostel back in 2006 and as soon as I entered my mess, there were so many posters and notices planted on the walls at several places.

The poster read "Do not waste food. There are millions who do not get to see it." And, I was the one getting to see it, watch it, have it, enjoy it and do a lot with it. Till that date were the lessons being taught in the school and home, but as kids we generally do not pay attention to them. Not that I wasted food earlier, but the poster had a huge impact on me, the reason being, I was told that now since I am going live a hostel- life, I should be a responsible child and pay attention to the important details in life. And, right there after seeing the poster, there were lots of thoughts ran down the street of my mind. It was happening because I had the hostel food for the first time in life, and I never thought much about food, for I was always pampered and served whatever and wherever I wished to.

I made a promise to myself, I shall never waste any food and shall always love and respect it as I am one of the lucky one to have it at my disposal as and when I need it. Since that day, I have almost never and ever wasted food, and my family is proud of this habit.

It is essential that we pay importance to little things in life, and larger ones fall in place itself. Why I mentioned this statement is that, in order to have a fulfillment of the dream of a well nourished, educated and well developed India, we must start from the base level where the least and the best possible as the responsible citizens we could and should do is elimination of classroom hunger and ensuring their proper education as this would remove the poverty from all levels of society.

Firstly, it is important to have a will to contribute to the welfare of the society and make the best possible efforts to be a part of it. Like Akshay Patra Organisation and several other NGO's, we can do our little bit by donating and promoting these great initiatives.

Secondly, ensuring proper awareness for the poor masses so that they send their kids to school and get them educated, with the promising meals like those provided through Mid-Day Meal Scheme and Akshay Patra organisation.

Thirdly, organizing activities for children where they shall be eager to make their way to classrooms, and have their meals and education simultaneously. There must be certain kind of motivation developed into these kids so that instead of skipping school and classes, they are excited to join and learn from them.

There must be obsession fused into the children in-order to shoot out this menace of hunger from the country. Let's not just watch it from a distance and instead make efforts in order to contribute in making changes to the society in whatever manner possible.

Hunger Elimination from Classroom!

I fairly remember the statement so well that my GrandFather usually used to quote, given by Mahatma Gandhiji, "There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread."

For once, can you imagine for how long one can stay without food, getting no proper nourishment and going hungry for the longest possible duration. Well, it is difficult for us to even ponder ourselves into that situation. Here, 'us' refers to those who can at the least afford to read this article.

Starvation is worst possible menace as I could think over all the possible threats to human in the world. There dwells no peace of mind, no desires of living, no adequacy of life without the  purpose of living. What does a person is here for in the midst of all this? This does no good to humanity and society at a large.

Making sense to all this, there is a lot of population of India, especially the poor and poverty ridden children, for whom either the meals or education are the two options among which the choice is to be made. With no doubts, a human would first look to meet the hunger and the body requirements which would ultimately get him/her drifted to other matters of importance.

It is important to feed the children of this country in order to ensure their higher enrollment in schools and give their contribution to education and do things of importance that would bring a change in the growth and development of not only the individual but also the society at a large.

It is essential that the educated and well-paid masses of the country contribute a little to the society for the elimination of classroom hunger and make the best of efforts to pave the children of this country on the imagined path of 100% literate India.

The great initiative by Akshay Patra Organisation making their best possible efforts to collect funds from governments and other organisations for giving the best quality food to the hunger-struck children and shifting their mindsets towards education, is laudable. Such organisations are a great boon to the society as this would eliminate the problems of beggary and poverty. This is in-turn leading to the progress of these poor masses.

A cent-percent educated India would in short time be eliminated of the grave problem of hunger and this would take them to shoot for better heights and ensure the proper growth of future generations and India.

I am going to #BlogToFeedAChild with Akshaya Patra and BlogAdda.

To the joys of Childhood!

It is never too late to re-live the childhood, for what I feel is that it is that phase of life, we can live as many times as we want to, only if we really wish and aspire to.

I do not miss my childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things,  even as greater things crumbled, and I keep visiting those days time and again as and whenever possible. Those were the days I could not control the world I was in but now there are certain things under my control, under my wish and will. There were times when I could not walk away from things or people or moments that had hurt me that time, but now I have all the choices and variables available at my disposal. The only thing that has been constant is that I took joy in the things that made me happy and I still continue to rejoice them the same way. Wonderful it is, ain't it? It really is, and that is how it should be.

As we grow-up in life, it becomes full of quirks and the deadly secrets. Childhood days are those days in the life of an individual where one goes on to stem those pillars where the branches of life are nurtured over it. The branches and the tree would be as heavy as the foundation would be.

For sharing and coming up with the best memories from childhood days, the best were rhyming loudly with the whole school. I used to eagerly wait for the assemblies and for the announcements where everyone would be singing in chorus.

One of them goes like this:  “If you are happy and you know it”

If any of the St. Thomsian, would be coming across it, he/she would know what I am talking about. The morning assemblies were the best part of the day. The best was our Principal Sir and all the teachers also used to join us in the song. This particular song “If you are happy and you know it” used to fill the thrill in every child in the school and everyone used to be so happy for whole of the day, for if you feel good, everything around will be good and emitting positive vibes and energy. This is the aura of the happiness, which the song ultimately conveys at large.

The video for the lovely rhyme is here:

Here goes another one: “Old MacDonald had a farm”

And if anyone from the Garg family that I am from, comes to stop at this post, shall approve of what I am going to narrate next. We have never known limits to the joy of this particular poetry song till today. Any one of the cousins would start and all would come out of their rooms and join. These are the joys of a joint family and I am proud of it. We have so much of these fun-filled moments. The best part of this song is that we used make our grandfather sit with us and make rounds and rounds around him while going on loudly with this poetry. Can you imagine of the joy I am talking about it here? To no doubts, it used to be so much fun and the excitement in we all kids new no boundaries.

The video for this yet another wonderful rhyme is here:

These are two of the memories of my childhood with the rhyming and merrily going around, and living happily to those memories today as well. These are the pure and pious moments for me which I would love to cherish and live forever with. With the advancement in life, we have entries and exits of individuals, like as I write it, I am missing my grand parents for they have left for some better world from here. Also, I miss my school days and singing in chorus and with friends and lots of schoolmates.

These are the joys that stay with us in the form of memories and precious moments. Though I cannot set back certain things, but even as today I want to remember and re-live those moments, I sing them and live them. I had a happy and a lovely childhood, that makes me a child again even today.

#BringBackTheTouch in LIFE!!

Indifference and neglect are those virtues that do more harm and cause hatred than the outright dislike. We know it rightly from the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

There was something that was going wrong between Kabir and Ameera. Their busy schedule made them to give up on each other.

On one fine day, Kabir comments, "I don't know what is wrong between us, but there certainly is that is not right. These words have the much unsaid associated with them for the reasons known and unknown. It is essential that the relationship that binds together two individuals should have the spark alive throughout and never let the ignition down even in the low tides of life."

Ameera in response to Kabir says, "The lows of one must be handled in a strong manner by the other by being a healthy support for the partner and vice versa. This leads to a successful and fruitful journey of the bond that exists and maintains the sanctity of the relation."

With just one comment from each other, Kabir and Ameera broke the silence and got together, hugged each other and went on for a long conversation with just the moments of touch, caressing each other, talking through the eyes, keeping a lot unsaid, for they both understood each other.

Life has so much to offer, ups and downs, alike. Also, there are the testing times such that the life puts the couple on tests and makes them face the situations and let them tackle out and come out with solutions, if possible or may conquer the issue altogether with might and courage. The bond shouldn’t get weaker during the bad times and the faith and trust should not be loosened in each other.

A small peck on the cheeks does wonders when there moments of sheer silence and it ultimately breaks down the silence. Also, a gentle press of the palm with a palm while taking a stroll in the park when the bond is low works well in holding back the relations. A warm hug from behind is a nice gesture to set the mood right for the partner. These are some of little few things which serve as miracles to #BringBackTheTouch.

We humans at most of the times mistakenly assume that if our partners love us they will react and behave in certain ways - the ways we react and behave when we love someone. Expectations are good, but actions are better.

Dinah Craik in 1859 in his book titled- A life for a Life quite aptly quoted, "Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away."

The home decor with Porcelanosa and #24KLiving

Taste and style are the result of the things that have influenced us during our lifetime. Taste is relative and is the sum total of the emotional and the intellectual experiences of the individual throughout the life process that goes on. In order to develop a positive and  a vital taste, it must be extensively exercised and developed. Taste is changeable and is influenced largely by the environmental and climatic conditions which prevail at any particular latitude and longitude intersection. A highly and differently cultivated taste, a taste that is so en-thrilling and exciting, is likely to be more acknowledged and provocative, a personal taste at its highest level of human satisfaction.

Interior decorations and home decorations are one's own personally developed taste and style. The preferences vary from one person to another. The Porcelanosa offers wide range of products and services that make life look serene and soothing.

The products that I would look forward to from the site would range from bathroom accessories to floor tiles, wall tiles to dining decors, and many more.

Some of them are as follows:

Bathroom accessories: This makes like look going in a trendy manner with huge range of products to choose from amongst the huge amount of options, for instance towel rails, bathroom cabinets, cans, variety of mirrors fitted with latest technology, etc. These increase the over all look and provide serene images to the bath-room, which adds interests to life. One should essentially know how to weave the accessories into life as they make the best of impressions.

Wall tiles: Porcelanosa has a huge variety to offer in the list of wall tiles, suiting to different life-styles one can go accordingly. My personal choice would be go for alternate light and dark bands of ceramic tiles which would give a scenic beauty to the home.

Kitchen cabinet: The lady's first choice is to have the best settings in the kitchen which would bring her into the mood of cooking and do wonders there. The best thing about Porcelanosa is that it has a huge collection to offer for kitchen ranging from small sized ones to the huge sized ones. Also, different kitchen settings such as those of with or without dining table into the kitchen. The interior settings on display with Porcelanosa are amazing and sight-soothing. The colour combinations are perfectly blended with each other in a splendid manner.

People's lives are expressed in the tiniest and minute details, for instance like those of flowers in the garden, soaps in the bathroom, the books on the shelves/bedside table, which are in itself the strong symbols of a life in progression. When one looks at these tiny details closely, a world unfolds, there would be a world that the soul desires in a wish of contentment and fulfillment.

#24KLiving has been recently set out in Asia and is all set to provide the best services and pave the way for creative interiors giving huge amount of satisfaction and peaceful atmosphere.

#ToiletForBabli : The dignity of female!

Women Are Honored Where, Divinity Blossoms There
(Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata)

Perfect statement to refer Womanhood that has been long reverenced as a manifestation of divine qualities since ancient Indian culture. It has been a symbol of eternal values of humanity in selfless love and caring for others most of the times. The ancient Indian philosophers long believed that the seeds of divinity grow and blossom in a well cultured society where women are given due honours of equal opportunities of respect and dignity.

Despite of the declining state of affairs during the medieval times, where exploitation and suppression of women occurred at a faster pace as compared to the ancient times than moral devaluation, women kept rising through several dimensions proving their existence and survival.

Females, in this country have been worshiped since times immemorial, but with the passing time the situations regarding proper sanitation, health and hygiene have been deteriorating, which is ultimately a sad state of affair for a developing country like India.

Defecating in the open poses a serious threat on the dignity of women in our society. Imagining of the situation of females defecating in the open is grave menace which must be tackled immediately and stringent measures by governmental and non-governmental agencies should come forward and make things actually happen on the ground by providing adequate facilities and means of sanitation.

There is no better service that could be done to the females of the villagers of this country, than providing them with proper sanitation facilities which would improve their health and hygiene standards. If the female in the family stands fit, the other members are ultimately benefited from her as she can take care of the family in the best possible manner.

According to the reports of WHO and UNICEF where India tops the list in the open-defecation, is a serious threat to the social status. This makes us to look down. The efforts should come forward to remove this blot on the name of India and pave India towards a healthier state where everyone would be having access to better sanitation facilities and taking forward the baton of India from a developing to a developed nation, and seeing forward to that day when India would be set as an example before everyone of happier and merrier country.

High GDP (Growth Developmental Product) would rise manifold when proper care is taken of the women in terms of better education and health facilities. They must be given necessary lessons on the maintenance of hygiene of their own and the family which would reduce the number of ailments and diseases. This would lead to prosperous and happy family and ultimately a progressive and leading nation.

For a nation to progress, its citizens must have the basic facilities to be provided at the grass root level and their progress must be ensured so that they contribute in the growth and development of the country at a large.

It is essential that without any grievances, for whom-so-ever it is possible should come forward to donate for the cause of making India a "open-defecation" free nation. Domex has done a great work by paving way for the development of defecation and adequate sanitation facilities in several parts of the country for better disposal and hygienic standards.

You can bring about the change in the lives of millions of kids, thereby showing your support for the Domex Initiative. All you need to do is “click” on the “Contribute Tab” on and Domex will contribute Rs.5 on your behalf to eradicate open defecation, thereby helping kids like Babli live a dignified life.
